Most of us experienced with this kind of problem – “Pen Drive doesn’t show our files, it displaying only shortcuts of the files or the pendrive. Actually its happened because of some malware attacked. Here we explain some simple steps to clear the malware as well as to recover your files.
Step 1
Click on “Start” menu –>Run –> type cmd and click on OK.
Here I assume your pen drive letter as F:
Enter the following command.
attrib -h -r -s /s /d f:\*.*
Press ‘Enter’ to execute the command.
Now you can see the files in your pen drive with unnamed folder maybe found there.
Note : Don’t forget to replace the drive letter ‘f’ with your pen drive letter.
Please wait….. Don’t open the files there and don’t try to open the short cut too until we finished the step 2.
Step-2
After that, download the Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware like Malware Scanners and perform “Full Scan”. After its finished completely now you can access your files safety.
Before you using your files delete the shortcuts you seen there.
